Use fan tags and notes
Tags let you group fans into segments (VIP, Whale, Free, Collab) so you can send targeted mass messages or filter your inbox. Notes let you record per-fan context that stays visible while you chat.
Creating tags
- Go to Dashboard → Fans.
- Click Manage tags in the top right.
- Click New tag, enter a name and pick a color.
- Save. The tag is now available across your inbox and mass message composer.
Tagging a fan
From the fan list:
- Go to Dashboard → Fans.
- Find the fan and click their row.
- In the fan detail panel, click + Add tag and select tags.
From a conversation:
- Open the fan's conversation.
- Expand the Notes panel on the right (click the toggle if it's collapsed).
- Click + Add tag under the fan's name.
Using tags in mass messages
When composing a mass message, use the Send to dropdown to target a specific tag, or use Exclude tags to skip a segment (e.g., send to All Fans but exclude Free).
Fan notes
Notes are private; fans never see them. Use them to track context:
- What content they've responded to
- Their preferred communication style
- When they last purchased and what
To add or edit a note:
- Open the fan's conversation.
- Expand the Notes panel.
- Click in the notes field and type. Notes save automatically when you click away.
Fan spending history
The Notes panel also shows the fan's total spend, active subscription tier, and last active time (useful for deciding how to approach an upsell).
