Connect your payout method

You don't get paid until you've added a payout method. You can earn before then (your balance accrues) but no money moves until this is finished.

Where the money goes

Payouts go to a bank account in your own name. There is no separate wallet to open and no other account to register for.

How long a transfer takes to land depends on your bank and your country, not on InnerText. Domestic transfers usually arrive within a few business days; international ones can take longer.

What you'll need

Everything is entered once, in the app:

• Legal name: exactly as it appears on your government ID
• Legal address: the address on the bank account
• Tax form: a W-9 if you're a US creator, a W-8BEN if you're not
• Bank details: account name, country, account number, and routing number where your bank uses one

Your tax ID is stored encrypted. The name on the bank account has to match the name on your tax form.

Steps

1. Open Settings → Payouts.
2. Complete your tax form, W-9 or W-8BEN.
3. Add your bank details. Double-check the legal name and account number; a typo here delays your first payout.
4. Once your details are on file, your balance becomes eligible for the next bi-weekly run.

Changing your details later

You can update your bank details at any time. A payout already in flight goes to the old details; changes apply to future runs. Update your tax form too if you move, change your legal name, or start trading through a company with its own EIN.

Tax forms

Your tax form is collected by InnerText, not by anyone else, in the same Settings → Payouts screen. US creators complete a W-9. If you cross $600 in earnings in a calendar year, a 1099-NEC is required for that year and comes from InnerText, addressed to the details on your W-9. Creators outside the US complete a W-8BEN, which is what stops US tax being withheld from your payouts.
