Set up your Text Me auto-response
Set up the InnerText auto-response that fires the moment a fan texts your number. Learn what to write, how to attach media, and what converts best.
The Text Me auto-response is the message InnerText fires automatically when a brand-new number texts yours. It runs once per fan, the moment they first reach out. It's the single highest-leverage message on your account.
Why it matters
A new fan who texts your number is sitting on their phone, with their thumb on the screen, in the most receptive state you'll ever get. Your auto-response goes out within seconds: before they switch apps, before they get distracted.
If your message lands, they tap your subscribe link. If it doesn't, they probably never come back.
What to put in it
Three things:
- Acknowledge them. "Hey, thanks for texting." Two seconds of warmth.
- One specific reason to subscribe. Not generic. "Exclusive sets I don't post anywhere else" beats "premium content."
- The subscribe link. InnerText inserts this automatically; you don't type it.
Optional: attach a preview
You can attach a photo or short video to the auto-response. Fans see it inline in the text thread. Treat media as a test: compare subscription starts from media and text-only versions before choosing a default. Use a preview, not your full content.
A template that works
Hey 👋 thanks for texting. I drop daily sets here that don't go anywhere else: Instagram, TikTok, none of it. Tap below to come in:
Then the subscribe link, automatically.
How to set it up
- Open Settings → Text Me in your dashboard.
- Type the message body. Keep it under 160 characters when you can; longer messages get split by carriers.
- (Optional) Attach media. JPG, PNG, MP4 under 5MB.
- Save. The next inbound from a brand-new number triggers it.
Editing it later
Edit anytime. Changes apply to new inbounds only; people who already received it won't get the new version.
